8 Reasons Why TinyTiles Are Better Than Regular Slate Tiles. I love model making and all things miniature and have for as far back as I can remember! I also love how you can make tiny things look realistic by using just your imagination. I always found making miniature tiles was time consuming so after many attempts and iterations I came up with the TinyTiles company to help modellers of all kinds make any project they were working on take on a realistic and professional finish. The main concept behind the tiles was that I wanted to bring a durable user friendly and realistic looking product to the market that would enhance any project the modeller had in mind from a dollhouse renovation to an armour \ aircraft modeller using a diorama to tell a story.
Here are 8 Reasons TinyTiles Are Better Than Regular Slate Tiles!

Reason 1
Easy to affix to your project! Real slate are quite heavy and thicker than I think looks realistic which makes them tricky to attach to your roof. They can slide around when trying to glue down and this can cause issues with alignment. TinyTiles are made from a lightweight styrene that can be glued on quickly without the fear of the product slipping around or moving during the assembly process. The tiles are easily lined up and as a result go onto the roof quicker. You can also use them on a front facade or vertical plain which gives you the option to give a tiled look to the front of a building (see image below)

Reason 2/3 & 4
The TinyTiles are Tough because they are made from a durable styrene plastic and will withstand heavy object landing on them with minimal damage which is nice to know after you have spent time and effort assembling your project. Real slates are fragile and will snap or crumble if they are dropped which leads to you having to repair and maybe spend more money on your project.
The TinyTiles product is lightweight which means that if you have a large roof area to cover it won’t add additional weight to your project. This also leads onto my final positive that TinyTiles are not going to break in transit to you. You will always receive 100% of the product you order wherever you are in the world un effected by the post. I have had slates break in the post in the past and this can be disappointing when you receive them.

Reason 5
TinyTiles are really easy to cut and shape to your desired finish. As we all know when fitting roof tiles to a project you can have many different objects you need to go around i.e dormers – chimneys etc and cutting real slates can be time consuming and difficult. TinyTiles can be easily cut with a hobby blade or a pair of craft scissors as a customer told me recently! This makes for a quick and easy assembly that won’t leave you daunted as to how to overcome an awkward area on your roof!

Reason 6
Easily painted to any finish you want for your project! I have a new range of tile out that come unpainted. This gives you the freedom to use any colour you want for you roof. The tiles accept ay paint from acrylic to regular craft paint you have at home. You can also use spray paint from a can. You could also layer with moss or other aged effects if you like to create any look you want! They are ready to use straight out of the pack!

Reason 7/8
TinyTiles are realistic looking and weatherproof just like the real thing! So as I have mentioned before. I love the realistic look of tiles on a roof and it can really set a project off. TinyTiles are all handmade by me and after a lot of research and development I came up with the most realistic look I could. I make all the tiles by hand which gives each tile a unique look (just like the real thing) Because of the durable acrylic colours I use the tiles are also ideal for use outside if you so desire! So there are the 8 reasons to use my tiles on your next project. Thank you for taking the time to read and If you are looking to elevate your next craft project then look no further 🙂
